I’m not a scientist, historian, recognized author, or professional musician. I’m a retired Florida Certified Building Contractor who spent more than fifty years building relationships and homes while working and raising a family in south Florida. That career eventually led me to hundreds of trips across the Everglades.

The Alligators’ Alley is built on that foundation. It wasn’t planned. It was simply a chain of real-life events—my work, my love of music, and my concern for our environment—all colliding at the same time.

My work took me across the Everglades. My love of music put a melody in my heart while I was there. And my concern for the environment eventually made me wonder what happened to the Everglades, which almost a million of us travel across every year.

The Alligators’ Alley is what happened when those three paths finally crossed.
